Richards Bay: RBIDZ Board Chairperson, Adv. Bheki Mbili together with Board Directors have applauded the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ) for achieving another Clean Audit outcome in succession.

For the fifth year running, the Auditor-General SA delivered the unqualified audit opinion without any findings to the RBIDZ, and subsequently Board Chairperson Mbili expressed satisfaction with the outcome and the manner in which the company has conducted its overall operational affairs for 2023/24 fiscal year.

The RBIDZ also achieved 95.65% overall performance encompassing twenty-three targets with only one not achieved and this is the demonstration of accountability that has been presented by the company under the leadership of the CEO, Thabane Zulu who since his appointment has delivered exceptional performance with his Executive management. Amid setbacks of economic climate, the company was also able to increase operational investment value to R643 million, increase approved investment value to R57 billion and increase rand value of black industrialist investments approved from R100 million to R782 million.

Mbili congratulated the company for pleasing achievements and emphasized that compliance with regulations and procedures is the cornerstone for any company’s success.

Following the pronouncement of the Clean Audit outcome, Thabane Zulu addressed staff and encouraged them to continue driving the vision and mandate of the company which in the main focuses on economic growth through investment attraction and job creation. Zulu further expressed his gratitude to the executive leadership for holding the forte’ and being responsible leaders within the organisation, however also congratulated and singled out the Chief Financial Officer, Ms. Simangele Mvelase who continues to provide guidance with regards to sound fiscal management legislation and practices.

Adding to the celebration, Zulu further recognized the entire staff adding that the Clean Audit outcome symbolized the quality and resolute team that the company has. ‘I am grateful to each and everyone of you; and your quality contributions to the mandate of the RBIDZ cannot be taken for granted,’ quipped Zulu.
