The Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ) was recognised as the most outstanding entity at the recently hosted KwaZulu-Natal Knowledge Management Week-Business Fair held in Pietermaritzburg. Framed around the theme “Elevating Knowledge Management for Strategic Impact”, the event brought together businesses, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to engage on knowledge management best practices and strategic insights for business growth and also embed a culture of continuous leading and collaborative problem-solving within the province’s economic landscape.

For the RBIDZ, the recognition underscores its strong commitment to research and innovation as the engines of modern industrial development, as it continues to drive smarter industrialisation and position the region for sustainable, future-ready growth, particularly, in the ICT and innovation business sector.
The RBIDZ further showcased at the business fair, its catalytic projects, offerings, and strategic initiatives; demonstrating a tangible, knowledge-driven network designed to attract investments, enhance service delivery, and foster community upliftment particularly through SMME support, skills development and job creation.
